Membership

There are 4 steps involved in becoming a new member or to renew a membership:

Apply for a Working With Children Card (WWCC) or link your existing card before submitting a membership application – NO MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS OR RENEWALS ARE PROCESSED WITHOUT A CURRENT VICTORIAN WWCC

Select your membership

Create your SLSA New Member account or Login if renewing

Pay your Fees

When all 4 steps are completed your application will be submitted to committee for approval.

*Expectations and Inclusions of membership category apply. Club membership covers a 12 month period.

The family concession fee covers membership fees for up to 2 parents/legal guardians and 1 child, aged 5-17 years, for each additional child add $80

A new membership category that allows community members to join their local Life Saving Club without the initial intention or need to participate directly in lifesaving activities.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD (WWCC)

Black Rock LSC is strongly committed to Child and Youth Protection.  All members 18 years and over MUST submit a Working With Children Card.

Apply/Renew WWCC

It is compulsory for all persons aged 18 and over to hold a Victorian Working With Children check to join or renew a membership at Black Rock LSC, regardless of whether you are directly involved with children or not.  Registered teachers are able to link their VIT cards using the WWCC link below.

Applications can be made online at https://www.service.vic.gov.au/find-services/work-and-volunteering/working-with-children-check  Cards should name Black Rock Life Saving Club and Life Saving Victoria as registered organisations to ensure the paperwork is  sent through – this will enable membership applications to be processed.

Existing WWC card holders should update their card to include Black Rock Life Saving Club and Life Saving Victoria as organisations – this takes 4 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTE to all new and renewing members:  Please be aware of the following “Declaration and Consent“ that applies to all members who are renewing or applying for new membership with Black Rock Life Saving Club via SLSA Members Area

DECLARATION & CONSENT

I, the member (or parent/legal guardian of minor), have checked and confirm that the personal details entered are correct. I have read and understand the Constitution and By-laws of the Black Rock Life Saving Club Inc and agree to abide by all Club Rules.
In respect to any family applicant under the age of 18 years, I give permission for my child (children) to attend training, competitions and any other functions organised by Black Rock Life Saving Club Inc. I authorise the person in charge of a club event, where it is impractical for them to communicate with me (parent/legal guardian), to consent to my child receiving such urgent medical or surgical treatment as may be deemed necessary by a medical practitioner / administer such first aid as the person in charge may judge to be reasonably necessary.
I give permission for Black Rock Life Saving Club to capture my image during club activities and for the use of those images and my name for club related activities and/or communication material.  Where the member is under 18 years I, as the member’s parent/legal guardian, consent on behalf of the junior applicant.
